An insider's experience of Provence culture, art, cuisine and history
You are invited to travel with Chandri Barat, a Provence expert, who has been taking students to the South of France for over 20 years. She will personally introduce you to an insider’s view of the land that has inspired great artists, writers, and travelers since it was named the first "province" of Rome over 2,000 years ago. And if you desire, she will arrange a French language class for you to brush up on your high school French.
You will experience the bright light and breathtaking landscapes that inspired Van Gogh, Cezanne, and Picasso to paint many of their greatest works. Provence is a land of perched villages that seem to defy gravity, a land where the sun almost always shines, a land of white horses, pink flamingos, palaces and medieval castles. Even the Popes came to reside in Provence, where they remained for almost a hundred years.
Provence is a region of incredible natural beauty, famous for its cuisine, and revered as producing some of the best food and wine in the world. It is where the simplest of beauties can turn sublime.
No wonder artists are drawn to this corner of southern France, and why everyone from Roman Emperors to modern day movie stars and princesses have come here to make it their own.
We invite you to step outside of the ordinary and explore Chandri’s beloved Provence on an insider’s journey that just might change your life.
